If Monuments Could Talk
Notre-Dame

The journey to write my own book was enlightening, challenging, terrifying, and beautiful. Do not let anyone tell you it's simple. The doubts and second thoughts come, regardless of the positivity you try to meditate on. But it's worth it.

I am proud to announce the release of my children's book, If Monuments Could Talk: Notre Dame. My mother inspired this series through her awestruck curiosity at the many monuments, natural landmarks, and historic spots we saw throughout our travels as a family. "What if this building could talk? Imagine what it could tell us?" she would say.

Imagine the stories. Imagine the people. Imagine the moments. Imagine the history it could share!

My first book features the Notre Dame. Construction began in 1163, and this iconic piece of Gothic architecture saw the Medieval Ages, the bubonic plague, the Hundred Years' War, the French Religious Wars, the French Revolution, World War I and II, and the constant evolution of the French Republic. It stands today despite international wars, fire, and a global pandemic. I thought it was a perfect start to my series of monuments personified.
